Correction of personal data by the registration authority

You have a right to know that the data a public authority processes about you, for example, is correct. Therefore, if you notice that inaccurate data about you is being processed, request that your data be corrected.

Obtain access to the adoption file

As an adopted person, you can inspect the files relating to the placement of your adoption yourself from your 16th birthday. Unless the interests of other parties concerned - such as those of your biological parents - conflict with or outweigh this right of access.

If you or a data subject require information about your stored data in accordance with Section 23(1) of the Security Clearance Act, you can request this by submitting an informal application.
